If only briefly, Time relates questions
of U.S. troop strength in Iraq and worldwide in 2003 to their
1961 story that included 3rd Armored Div. Commander Creighton
Abrams on the magazine's cover. That 1961 article included the
fact that - even then - the manpower aim of the Army was "to
be able to fight two limited wars simultaneously in such distant
corners of the world as Southeast Asia and the Middle East." |
