Sp5 Joe Cyr, 503rd Admin Co, is pictured on a
brief "R&R" that included West and East Berlin
in 1968. It still seems hard to believe that, even in the thick
of the Cold War, American GI's were allowed inside East Berlin
on bus tours. Cyr reached West Berlin from Frankfurt via a regular-running
US Army train through East Germany. |
