REMINDER OF A NAZI PAST
Patterns of Swastika's

Most Spearheaders were never aware of it. There
in the design of Drake Kaserne's ex-Wehrmacht, cast iron, main
gate were patterns of swastika's. Although the US Army took over
the kaserne in 1945, and the 3AD arrived there in 1956, the gate
and its Nazi era eagles somehow survived until about 1972, when
a major renovation of the entrance took place. The building in
the background was 3AD's Headquarters from 1956 to 1992. |
