Iranian military officials arrive for a close look at
the 3rd Armored's Davy Crockett equipment.

The 1960's & '70's were an entirely different
era with an entirely different military frame of mind towards
Iran. Here in 1965, a bus load of Iranian military men have arrived
at a Hohenfels firing range specifically for discussions and
a dry-fire demonstration of the Davy Crockett and its nuclear
and anti-tank capabilities. Of course, at that time, the Shah
of Iran was in power, and Iran and the U.S. were close military
and political allies. |
