3AD Headquarters at Juvigny, France

The mayor of Jurvigny and his assistant
hold a 3AD plaque outside the house used as divisional HQ for
several days in August, 1944, after Combat Command "A"
troops captured the town in a vicious firefight. It was then
the home of a Doctor Lemonnier, who, by 1994, no longer owned
the property, but spoke with O'Brien and Ruth by phone. The plaque
was to be placed at the Juvigny city hall. |
