President Truman & General Eisenhower
visit the 3rd Armored Division
on July 26, 1945, along Frankfurt-Darmstadt Highway.

  During a break from the Potsdam Conference with Joseph Stalin and Winston Churchill, the President flew from Berlin to Frankfurt, where the Division had established a temporary headquarters south of the city. In second photo below, foreground from left, are: 3AD Commanding General Doyle Hickey, U.S. Secretary of State James Byrnes, President Truman, and Supreme Allied Commander Dwight Eisenhower.
