Telegram from Chief of Staff, U.S. Army and Army Air Corps
Gen. George C. Marshall
to Major Gen. Rose's widow on April 2, 1945
|
As with the Eisenhower telegram, this is the
first ever public display of the Marshall telegram sent to Mrs.
Virginia Rose at her home in Denver, Colorado, three days after
Gen. Rose was killed outside of Paderborn. Our appreciation for
its release in November, 2004, goes to the General's older son,
Marine Corps Colonel Maurice Rose (Ret), and to research historian
Don R. Marsh (2AD/3AD WWII veteran). |
