Military historian Steven Ossad of San Francisco,
at podium in second photo below and co-author of the newly published
biography of Gen. Rose, spoke during ceremonies at Middletown's
Veterans' Memorial Park. Describing Rose as "Connecticut's
greatest soldier," Ossad also paid tribute to other specific
servicemen and units that came from the state and fought with
particular distinction dating back to the Revolutionary War of
1776. |
