"Ike" (at right-center, pointing downrange)
observes the use of a .45 cal. sub-caliber tank gunnery device
while on an inspection of Division training in February, 1944,
at Warminister, Wilts, England. The specific 3AD unit was not
identified, but the above tank and crew were would have been
from either the 32nd or 33rd Armored Regiment. Unit markings
were apparently covered (above) for pre-invasion security reasons,
given the presence of photographers. |
