Two 3AD riflemen, part of a 36th Infantry scout
patrol, enter the burning village of Mont-Le Ban, Belgium, on
January 26, 1945, under German artillery fire. This picture,
which was originally published in Spearhead in the West
in 1945, has been used in several major WWII history books, and
as recently as 2002 in a Time-Life collection of war photos.
Unfortunately, the names of the soldiers are unknown. |
